My personal involvement with the R.C.A.F. was through my brother who served as a tail gunner on a Halifax bomber off 77 squadron R.A.F. and my uncle, who was a wireless op. air gunner on R.C.A.F. Sqn. 428, flying Lancasters.
It was the boyhood memories of my brother building balsa wood models and reading the pulp fiction magazines of “G8 and His Battle Aces” that fuelled my passion for painting aircraft. Some of the depictions are based on history, others are from incidents as recounted by acquaintances.
For a retired commercial artist who always dreamed of painting aircraft full time, all of them are a joy to create.
